Megan and Matt had a gorgeous outdoor wedding ceremony and a fabulous barn wedding reception in Burlington, North Carolina. But before they got started with their rustic wedding day, these two lovebirds decided to have their first moments together in the city. But after that it was blue skies and grassy fields surrounding them and their guests as they said I Do.
So many great details were incorporated into their day, all done by this DIY bride – I am IN LOVE with the bottle vases tied to sticks with twine as their aisle decor. Simple and stunning really. Elegant white fabric draped in the barn to dress up the high ceilings (hey couples – good tip! This is a great way to help brighten the feel of the barn when there are high, dark, beamed ceilings!). Cute bakers twine wrapped monograms, a robust collection of heirloom family photographs to share “where we came from”. A sweet message to accompany the photos. I see photo displays often at weddings and they are a touching tribute, but that note on their little chalkboard makes it even sweeter.
And to talk sweets, how about the cake & pie table? YUM! And this wedding day is complete with games, bunting, burlap to dress up the tables, sweet moments together. A perfect day. Much love to you, Megan and Matt, as you start your life together!

Well, one of my friends happened to pin this to her pinterest board and I am glad that she did because I think this headpiece would be STUNNING for an earthy, farm style bride to wear on her wedding day. Skip a fancy hairdo and instead showcase this stunning handcrafted leaf headpiece that etsy maker Pomp & Plumage describes as Grecian-inspired. I sure think it’s lovely. Do you?
I kind of want to get one just to wear when I want to feel a little bit fancy! Head over to etsy to find this one-of-a-kind piece!
From Arlene Chambers Photography:
“They love to just BE together!! Working out, eating, running a business or watching reality TV… Recently it’s been taking turns in the hospital, but they are on the up and up and are there to support each other no matter what. Getting married in July, Stephanie & Tyler are super excited. We ventured out to a random house for their engagement session. The house was full of surprises, around every corner was a new area that screamed at me. Rugged stairs, walls and a cool tree that engulfed them. We later found a street that was perfect for a little love & romance. Lastly was the field, a place where Tyler could serenade Stephanie and show off his musical talents. They are very much in love and their wedding is going to be a fun and gorgeous event!”
I love the “just wing it and see what comes” attitude of this engagement. Stephanie and Tyler, we hope you are feeling much better! Best wishes to you both. We can’t wait to see your wedding!
Oh these have farm wedding written all over them! Who wants to use these awesome galvanized cake pedestals for their wedding cake, cupcakes or other goodies to share with your guests? I love these because they aren’t flashy, but they definitely would be noticed. Understated. Simple. Lovely.
You can find them over at BHLDN (and for a reasonable price I might add!)!
A beautiful spring weekend ahead, so it only seemed right to share a beautiful springtime barn scene!
