Happy Friday! Ok, so this isn’t technically a farm wedding, but it is a GORGEOUS outdoor, handmade, colorful wedding with so many great details that I had to share it with you. KK and Scotty’s awesome wedding, as their adorable barnwood sign so aptly stated, took place outdoors in northern Minnesota at a lodge on a lake. A little bit of beach, a little bit of nature, here’s what bride KK had to say about their special day…
“We wanted all of our guests to feel completely comfortable, sort of like a backyard summer party, but still elegant. I wanted something whimsical with a lot of personal touches. We also didn’t want to buy a bunch of stuff that we wouldn’t use again, or waste money on rental items. So, I dug through my mama’s things, stuff I have collected over the years, and sort of came up with a menagerie of things that we already owned; milk glass, antique dishes, mason jars, and other trinkets that somehow came together to make our day really beautiful. The things we did purchase all had to have a purpose once the big day was over! We purchased ticking stripe that my childhood nanny made into tablecloths, which will upholster our kitchen chairs and outdoor furniture with this fall! We didn’t want to have things go to waste! We used the resources that we had on hand, and added to them when needed. Everything was carefully thought out! When Scotty and I pulled up it took my breath away! I never knew I had a dream wedding so to speak, but I can honestly say that we had the wedding of our dreams. It was the best day of our lives, and I am still blown away by how magical the entire evening was! I would relive that day 1,000 times if I could!”
Oh where to start… don’t you just love the gorgeous bouquets, the seersucker suits, the ribbon on the chairs? The ribbon on the chairs is so awesome! I love their bright color scheme, but you could do this with any color scheme. A PERFECT way to dress up chairs! I also love the hankies for the guests to use to wipe their tears. Well and who doesn’t love a dog at a wedding. Adorable. I love their lawn signs that say ‘holy matrimony’ and the guest board with stories and pictures of all of their friends and family in attendance. You know what else I love about this wedding – the mismatched fabric napkins for each place setting. I LOVE it! And to end their day setting off in a beautiful boat, it is magical!

Thank you so much for featuring our special day. This was a shock to both Scotty and I… We had no idea that you featured us. It was the most magical day of our lives. I assure y’all that I am truly the lucky one to get to be scotty’s other half. He is a stone. cold. fox. Elizabeth, you are the best wedding coordinator in the world! This feature is all for you! Advice to brides to be… Do what you want on your day no matter how silly it seems! I mean if you don’t have hundreds of yards of ribbons and bride and groom mannequins at your reception, who will?! Thanks again!
